Can I limit the type of files tranasferred from internet to a clie

Hello all.

A friend of mine is sharing the internet connection through my pc
(lan-internet gateway). The person only requires the internet for
browsing,etc not for downloads. So I want to restrict downloas such as exe,
mp3, zip, etc. Can it be done?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
 
Sure can, you'll need a proxy server between you and the Internet.

Microsoft ISA Server, if cost is no object. :-) Otherwise, do a Google
search and you should find some cheaper alternatives.
