Can I install XP Home over XP Pro?

I would like to use XP Home on my desktop pc which is currently running XP Professional
Do I have to blow out XP Pro/reformat my HD before installing Home?

Yes - you will have to do a complete reinstall.
You cannot install Home over Pro in a non destructive manner.

You get the opportunity to perform a "clean install" since
XP Home cannot be installed over XP Pro.
