Can I hook things up like this?

I have 4 PCs - each in a separate room. Each room has ethernet cable
that runs to a closet in one of the bedrroms. Since all the ethernet
cables run to that one closet, can I put a hub in that closet and then
in one of the rooms with a PC, can I connect the pc like this?

DSL wall jack ------ DSL modem -----VPN router-----PC

I know that PC will work but will the other PCs be able to get to the
internet?

Right now, the router is in the closet acting like a hub. This works
OK but I need to move the VPN router because my laptop wireless
connection fails because the laptop's too far from the router.

I guess my real question is since the other PCs won't be directly
plugged into the router anymore will they still be able to find the
internet connection???

Yes, broadband cable/DSL routers at one time only had one LAN port so were
generally plugged straight into a hub or switch.

DSL wall jack ------ DSL modem -----VPN router----- Hub/Switch -- other PCs
