I mean having win vista x 64bit as my main os on C partition and xp pro on a
seperate partition?
the reason being... my TV tuner card doesn't work under vista 64bit so I
cant use media centre... there are no 64bit drivers for Black Gold TV tuner
card
I followed everything on here to the letter and when I inserted the xp media
centre disk it loaded the files and then restarted then just froze and a lot
of the blurb on the boot screen turned funny colours and just hung up on me.
I thought that I had lost everything but a quick repair from the vista x 64
disk got me back into my desktop
What I would do would be to try installing MCE on a blanked hard drive,
with the Vista drive disconnected, to see if installation went the same way.
If it did, I'd probably give up on MCE. If it didn't, I'd be able to plug the
Vista drive back in and enable dual boot between the two drives.
There are people more determined than I am who wouldn't give up on
MCE if it did that again presented with an empty hard drive, but would
figure out where to get the drivers that would keep it from doing that.
