Rename OS in Dual Boot Screen

D

Dave

Hi, just installed vista ultimate x64 (without any issues whatsoever & is
running perfectly) and am dual booting with vista business x86. However,
both operating systems have the same name in the dual boot selection menu
and in the advanced settings within the operating system. Until I am certain
that that all my software & hardware works on the 64bit OS I'd like to
continue dual booting... so is there an easy way to change the name of the
different operating systems? adding x64 to the name of the 64bit OS would
suffice.

TIA

Dave

Yup, download VistaBootPro, that's the easiest way to go.

Easy BCD is more friendly and easy to use:
EasyBCD by NeoSmart Technologies would be your answer, it provides a
graphical front end to the BCDEdit Command line that makes it easy for you
to define start-up settings and edit boot entries on the new Windows
Longhorn Server/Vista boot manager. http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1
