Can I get row & column height the same measurement? ie to get squa

The rows and column heights in excel are not universal. i.e. when I set the
row height to say 12 and then the column height to 12 it should be a square
but it isn't!

Is it possible? I'm trying to make a graph paper type page. I've also tried
Word 2003 but again with no success

Row heights are measured in points or pixels. There are 72 points to an inch
and "maybe" 96 pixels to the inch.

The number that appears in the Standard column width box is the average number
of digits 0-9 of the standard font that fit in a cell.
