Hi every one,

I was transferring my photos from camera's memory card to my external
hard disk, i.e, i cut the photos from memory card & pasted it onto the
external hard disk. But windows displayed a msg saying that there was
no enough space on the selected drive. I canceled the process. In this
process, first half of the photos which could not be pasted on the
disk are lost. Can i find it by any way..

Cut / Paste...is a command for "Moving" files
from one folder to another and is not a good
choice when dealing with external media....
Copy / Paste...would be a better choice.

Maybe the following freeware will recover
the files from the memory card:

Recuva - File Recovery

Recuva Beginner's Guide

They're gone.

Lesson: next time COPY the files and then paste them. If something
goes wrong, you will still have them on the camera's card.

Immediately afterwards you could've pressed Ctrl/Z a couple of times to
undo the Cut operation, but it's probably be too late now.

In addition to the advice below: Use the recovery programs on
your camera memory card . With the camera cable attached to your
computer you can still see the connection even if no files show
on the monitor. I wouldn't doubt that the memory card deletion
pointers can be restored providing that no more pictures are
taken on the card prior to recovery attempt.

Two points:

1. Download and try a freeware undelete program (here's one:
http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html but there are several
others to choose from; do a Google search) on the memory card.

2. In the future, avoid doing a cut and paste (either for this use or
any other one). It is much safer to do a copy and paste, and then
delete from the source afterward if the copy was successful.

Didn't know that deleted files could be retrieved from a flash card.

Apologies to the OP if I caused a rise in blood pressure! ;-)

Hi abhishekrishna,

I've used Restoration 2.5.14 successfully on memory cards:
http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlrestoration.html

Of course if you've used the camera since this has happened you've
probably overwritten some of them.

Of course deleted files can be restored from flash cards...no
different than disk based files.

If all the previous suggestions fail you can try File Restore
