What are found.000 and such folders? can i get rid of them
what about $NTUNINSTALL . . . . and such? are these things safe to delete???

Hi

The 'found.000' files are created by Check Disk. You may be able to getsome sense out of those files, but I normally delete them.

The NTUNINSTALL files are for the Windows Hotfixes. I leave them where they are just in case I need to uninstall any of the Hotfixes. Have a look at the following article:

found.000 are usually created by ScanDisk Utiliy, they
just keep record of that session, and anything the a $
prefix in a windows folder is a hotfix or an update so
don't delete them.

Hi

XP has Check Disk, not ScanDisk. Those Uninstall folders can be deleted, so long as the user definitely knows that he/she will never have to uninstall any of the Hotfixes.
