Yes, Let's say you open 'my documents'
click on tools , then 'Folder Options'
click on the 'View' tab on top
in the box with a lot of check boxes, check off
'Remember each folder's view settings'
this will customize each folder as you want ...
If you want all folders to open in 'details' view
(or any other), make sure the folder you are in is set to
'details' and then click on the button near the top
'Apply to All Folders' and it will apply what is in the folder
you are working on to all folders in the future.
