I have a network drive that I can access fine from one PC that views the
folder contents as details or tiles just fine
another PC, which has it set for thumbnails, ALWAYS FREEZES explorer.

is there anyway I can change the properties of a folder view, externally?
regedit or properties of the folder?

thanks...

Open a directory that you know doesn't freeze, such as My Computer. Set
the View the way you want it, like "List". Then open Tools>Folder
Options and click the button that says to set all folders like the
current one. Apply/OK out.

this works on network folders as well?
I am aware of the procedure you outline, I thought it was only for local
folders,
I feel the fool for not trying, shall when I get home, thanks.

I assume it works for network folders - after all you are *viewing* the
network resource on your local computer and your local display settings
apply.
