I save email messages to network folders using Office 2003; a user with
Office 2002 cannot open them--default format is html, he can open them if I
save as Outlook Msg (not as unicode msg)...any way I can set my default in
Save As box to "as Outlook Msg" - I save a lot of emails!

thanks!

Two things: first, if the messages are HTML, the default file type for
saving will always be ".htm". Second, click Toools>Options>Other>Advanced
Options and uncheck the box labeled "Use Unicode Mesage Format when saving
messages". I suspect your OL 2002 compatriot will then be able to open
them. Maybe not, but it's worth a shot.
