I AM CURRENTLY IN MEDICAL SCHOOL AND TRYING TO CHANGE THE A,B,C... TO
DIFFERENT WORDS. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

No.

But you can type in the headings you want in row 1.

Then click on Cell A1 and select Windows/Freeze Pane.

The screen will now scroll below the headings you created.

You can change them between 1,2,3,..., A,B,C...., or choose to show nothing.

But I'd leave the letters there, then put those alternate titles in Row 1. (Use
alt-enter to force a new line within the cell).

Then make sure A1 is visible
select A2 and then
Window|freeze panes

So row 1 will always be visible.

(And you may want to use File|page setup|sheet tab|rows to repeat at top when
you print.)

No, your only options are to change them to numbers instead of letters
(Tools/Options/General) or to not display them at all (Tools/Options/View).

If you do the former, you must enter all formulas in R1C1 notation. If you do
the latter, I think you'll have great trouble entering your formulas.

Or you can enter new column headers in row 1, then freeze panes (Window menu)
