Can I change Autonumber from integer to replication ID?

Please help!!! I am a kindergarten, or maybe an elementary user of
access..

I am working on a database with primary key using autonumber that
would set a long random integer to the record as ID. I am making some
modifications to it since we are going to share this database with
another team offsite. To avoid duplicate ID, I want to change the ID
to use replication ID. (I know I can create a replica and then
synchronize the databases; however, our system has limitations and
will not allow us to do that)

Is it possible to keep the existing ID as is and only use replication
ID for new records to be added? (Probably not? Cos when I tried to do
that, I got an error message "You can't add second replication ID
autonumber field to a table") As I am not sure I want to change the
existing ID because that might mess up its relationship to other
table, can someone help me with that? Any suggests will be greatly
appreciated!!
