Can I burn a bootable ISO on a CD+RW or only on a CD+R ?

Not as far as I know. The -R and +R distinction is with writable DVDs,
not CDs.

OK, I stand corrected. (I must be getting a bit senile. After
reviewing it again, it seems you're correct. It's just for the DVDs).
My bad! Sorry about that.

Not a problem, and thanks for the acknowledgement.

You missed the information entirely. There is no such thing as a CD+R. There
is only the one format (type of cd) within which there's a write-once type
(CD-R) and a rewritable type (CD-RW) that can be erased and reburned. The
"W" indicates disk can be erased and reused with that designation being
common to both CDs and DVDs. There is DVD-R (& RW) as well as DVD+R (& RW)
and with them it does matter as not all dvd units (both pc drives and stand
alone players) recognize both formats.

There is only one "type" of CD where-as there's now least 3 types of DVDs
(DVD-, DVD+ & DVD-DL)

If you have a CD (and NOT a DVD) has "CD+R" on the actual disk please snap a
photo and show us or least pass along brand of cd as to my mind that's just
marketing screwing a user over if they've changed their "logo" to a non
standard designation.

CD+R or CDR IS CD +R. The + just isn't usually used; nothing
is used unless it's ... -R in some places, other places they use the "+"
to make positive differentiation.

But you do your own research, you're the one making the challenge and
trying to confuse people; lots of hits, a few only blatherskiting, most
reasonable, and some very good about the explanations of +R. On Google,
"CD+R" results in ~ 1,410,000 hits; a lot of hits for something that
doesn't exist. And the explanation you need is right on the first page
in at least two of the offereings from reputable sources.

Before going too far with blanket statements please THI*M*K first! <g>.

Cheers,

Twayne

To directly answer the OP's question, you can burn an ISO to either/any
CD or DVD your system will handle. An ISO is no more than a file to the
system and burning is the same regardless of the media type. RW of
course can be completely erased and reused, where just R cannot because
it's a write-once media. RW is read/write.
