Can I backup the system restore info?

Is it possible to archive the WinXP "System Restore" data to tape, another
hard drive, off-site, whatever?

If so, which files have to be saved?

A recent crash apparently clobbered my system restore data. It would have
been nice to have a copy somewhere.

easily, just click start > run > type "ntbackup" without quotes > tell it to
start in wizard mode > click next > tell it to backup > click next > select
let me choose what to backup > click next > expand my computer > expand your
local disk drive > checkmark System Volume Information > click next > click
browse and choose where you want to save the file > name the file > click
next > click finish. It will then run the backup process. To recover these
files you must run ntbackup after you have reinstalled your windows or run it
on another windows XP computer and instead of backup on the second screen
select restore. Good Luck.

Thanks Kemco that seems to do the trick. The only thing I would add to
your procedure is to save the System Volume Information for each disk
(physical or logical) on the system. (I have 3 logical drives.)
