I used to be able to add a column of numbers in an old version of Word.
Here's what I want to do:
1 KENTUCKY RIFLE - Curly maple stock. 10,000.00
2 Sofa - Three cushion.
100.00
I could "highlight" the numbers only using the option key and highlighting
from "right to left". Then I went to "tools" and there was a "calculate"
key. When I selected "calculate" I would get a "total" of 10,100 (for
example) in the lower left of the screen. Is there still a way to calculate
a column of numbers (I always use the decimal tab for the numbers) in the
newer versions of Word?? I do appraisals of personal property and want to
switch to a new Word program on a different computer, but I can't seem to add
a column of numbers. Any suggestions - or can this no longer be done?????
Thanks, Marianne
