Can I access to my home computer file on internet browser?

Can I access to my home computer file on internet browser anywhere I want?
i am using xp pro with remote desktop now, but had tried something like
enter \\ip_address\ to access my shared folder at home using my work
computer, but forgot how to do that, please advice....
