Can anyone help me get started? Sync Access with Outlook 2003

Chris

My job is to make sure the surgeon i work for knows his surgical schedule for
the following week. Also, I am to keep a database of these surgeries for
research purposes. My goal is to be able to add information to the Access
2003 record and have it sync with Outlook 2003.

(patient name, medical record number, procedure, procedure code(s),
diagnosis, diagnosis code(s), duration of procedure, date of birth, phone
number, location of surgery, and specific hardware used)

Can anyone help me get started?

Chris,
Bebore you get too involved in design of your database, you might want to
check on the security issues that HIPAA regulations might have impact
on....... you might be better off having a "pro" design your db.

What I meant was that the database would be used for getting numbers
example.. how many pediatric vs adult procedures performed. So I was
incorrect when I said research.

So longs as you have NOTHING in the database that personally identifies the
patient, you should be ok. So no name, no address, no phone number, no age,
no birthdate, absolutely no ssn etc.
You need to be trained in HIPAA before working in ANY medical establishemnt
on ANY type of work.
