Can a slide show be automated, e.g. for showing at a public event?

I want to display a Power Point presentation for viewing at a public event
without a script. How do I program the slide show to run continuously without
manual control?

First, make sure that the slides are set to transition after a certain
amount of time instead of just on mouse click (Slide Show--> Slide
Transitions). Next, go to Slide Show--> Set Up Show and set the presentation
to play at a kiosk instead of by a speaker. By setting these two things up,
your presentation should loop through automatically. (Setting it as a kiosk
makes sure it loops automatically and that someone can't stop teh show by
accident with the keyboard.)
