Can a movie DVD image on the hard drive be "played"?

If you have software that can mount a virtual drive like Roxio Easy Media
Creator.

So I would need software that would create a virtual drive?

If you have WinDVD you can copy the VIDEO_TS directory to the root directory
of one of your fixed drives (e.g. C:\VIDEO_TS) and you can tell WinDVD that
your C: is the default drive. It should then play C: as if was a DVD.

(Sorry only tried this on XP, but it's a suggestion).
