Camera USB won't display

I have used my camera usb on my XPsuccessfully for months.

Now it won't display as a disk drive as it did before.

The "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is there.
The camera shows in three places in Control Panel:

USB Controllers "SHARP DVC/DSC USB ver 1.1"
driver detail: C:\..... \USBSTOR.SYS

Disk drives: "SHARP Digital Camera USB Device"

Storage volumes - generic: driver: "c:\...\VolSnap.sys"

But no "disk drive letter" access. (I have letters available)

Fortunately, the card reader (and anything else)
works fine in USB. But I'd like to PnP the camera.

Thanks,

Mason C

This internet thing is getting beyond reality.
In the second post below mine, in answer to
a similar question, Rich Barry gave me my
solution:

Lynn, rt click on MyComputer>select Manage>Disk Management. See if they
show up there and if you can rt click and
assign drive letters to them.

It worked! My camera is back in business! Thanks Rich Barry!
