Ever since upgrading to SP2 on my Sony PCG-GRT360ZG laptop, whenever I
connect my high-end digital camera to an Adaptec FireConnect IEEE 1394 PC
Card, the software for the camera does not recognize that the camera is
connected.
When I go into Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark next to
the driver. I then have to uninstall the driver, restart and reinstall the
driver with the camera connected. Everything works fine until I 1)
disconnect and reconnect the camera for whatever reason or 2) shut down and
restart the computer. Either way, even with the card and camera connected, I
must again go through uninstalling and reinstalling the driver steps and
restarting - everytime!
I noticed there was an IEEE1394 patch locatied at:
www.microsoft.com/downloa...layLang=en
It is supposed to correct some IEEE capture device issues. I downloaded and
installed it, but it didn't make a darn bit of difference. The funny thing is
that I use this same camera and software on a Dell tower and do not
experience this problemat all. Only on the Sony laptop.
I have also tried uninstalling the IEEE 1394 Controller and rebooting to
have it freshly installed and this doesn't help either.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
