When I connect my camera to the USB port a sound is coming, but there is no
drive to be seen in Explorer. When I disconnect the camera the sound comes
again, and in a flash second I can just see a drive in Explorer. It is very
quick and gone in a split second. Anyone have some suggestions?

Did you install a device driver for the Camera? Does the manufacturers
website say anything about compatibility?

There is no device driver for the camera; it worked under XP without any
problems. Thank you for your answer.

You might be better off not using the camera with Vista. I know
connecting the camera, opening the folder, drilling down to the
pictures, selecting the ones I want and starting he copy to my hard
drive used to take about 30 seconds in XP. Now I am lucky if I do not
punch my monitor after the first 20 minutes of trying. So slooooooow
and buggy. Not sure if the actual transfer times are longer, but
getting to the point where I can walk away from the computer and let
it do its thing takes so long.
