Camcorder not working with SP2

Has you camcorder worked under SP1, but when connected to the firewire port
of your upgraded SP2 computer, stopped working?
If so please post your pc specs, inc as much info as possible, inc hardware
and software, also Make/model/age/PAL-NTSC of the camcorder, and what if
anything happens when the cam is connected.

Please no discussions of the problem in this post, just info from people who
are suffering.

I personally had a problem with an older Sharp DV camera (VL-PD1) and have
been doing research assuming it was my crappy old DV camera. I was about to
invest in a newer Sony, assuming it was the camera, and in my research found:

and
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/t106716.html

It doesn't take long in Google to find a bunch of people having troubles
with XP2 machines and DV cameras :-( Now I'm not sure if the upgrade is
worthwhile. It wasn't a reliable connection in SP1, so I still think the
Sharp camera is to blame, but it would be nice to know for sure before
dropping more cash on a "solution"

With SP2 one needs to open the firewall, exceptions, add the software and/or
add the port for the device,w/o that in place it wont work.....
