Calender reminders from Word

Our new computer has XP Home SP1 and I can not get the
appointment reminders from Word to display unless I open
Word, ie I have to remember to look for reminders. Can XP
be setup to display these reminders at startup like ME
used to do?
 
Do a search for WKCalRem and create a shortcut to it. Place that shortcut
in a folder named STARTUP.
