Calendars alongside Inbox

Can 2 or 3 monthly calendars show alongside one's Inbox items in a customized
view? User claims he had it like that in a previous version, probably
Outlook 2000. I don't remember that being possible at all.
 
Outlook 2007 is the first version that allows you to do this.
