Calendar - unable to open

Am using Outlook 2007 on a Windows XP. Since today I am unable to open the
calendar. The programme hangs and I have to force it to close, I shall be
grateful if a solution is suggested.

Thanking you in advance,

The first thing I'd try is to run ScanPST.EXE on your PST file to see if it
got damaged from the forced closing.

Thank you for your response. Even after running the ScanPST.exe and the
repair, the problem is persisting.

Apart from this, I have a few more queries:
1. I observed that there are two Personal Folders. How do I combine the
data into one Personal Folder?
2. Even though Outlook is not being used, a tmp file gets created and
disappears after a while. Why is it so and how does one prevent it?
3. How does one clean appointments, tasks and journal entries which are
more than 1-2 months old?

The PST file is becoming bigger and bigger. May be after clearing old
entries, it shall trim down.

Once again thanking you for your guidance.
