Calendar Reminders Do not work but no error message

One of my favorite new features in Vista was the calendar. I've used it since
the betas with no trouble, but recently it began to stop notifying me of
reminders when calendar is closed. When it is open, it works fine. I know
this is a known problem in conjunction with the windows calendar has stopped
working error message, but I do not get this message. I simply do not get
reminders.

The task is still scheduled properly. I even tried manually erasing it and
reconfiguring it. I also tried installing the hotfix 933942 but to no avail.
I simply can't get reminders anymore without opening calendar. Any ideas?

I, too, am having this problem - and I am very interested in learning if the
problem can be fixed!
