Calendar reminder default in tools/options doesn't match new appt.

I recently recieved this question from an Office user that I cannot find the
answer to. Here is the original question...

....in Outlook 2007, when I go into Tools/Options, it says my calendar
default reminder is set at 15 minutes. But, when I make a new appointment,
the reminder defaults to 18 hours. How do I get these married up to 15
minutes?

Any ideas about what is going on here??

18 hours is for All Day events. Timed appointments are 15 min.
