Calendar past data entries all disappeared, not in Archive.

Just found out that ALL my past data entries had disappeared and they are
only 20 days before, not retrievable in the archive calendar. Anyone know
why this happens, will the entries be retrievable, and if not, how to avoid
in the future? I did not do any updates or change of computer recently.
