I keep several years worthof appts. data in Outlook and synch with a
Blackberry Curve using the latest synch software/Blackberry desktop. Today i
awoke to find many month sof appts. missing form outlook. curiously the "all
day " entries remain. appts. are gone from as little as two week ago.
i am not using any autoarchiving that i know of (how do i check this? how do
i turn it off?)
how do i get these appts. back as this data is critical. the back up folder
looks very large- can i import the appts. back in ?
thanx !

Outlook has no settings that control any aspect of a sync. It's entirely up
to the sync software and device. The Blackberry's default setting, I
believe, is to keep only the most recent two weeks of events, deleting
anything older, which removed it from Outlook permanently. From what I've
read, there is a setting in the Blackberry that can tell it to keep older
events permanently.

If you have a backup of your Outlook data in a PST, you can open it in
Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File and then copy back to the default
folders anything missing that it contains.

Sorry, but I don't use a Blackberry and don't know. Read your
documentation.

Huh? What Blackberry does with its software is completely out of
Microsoft's hands. That's like asking "why did Microsoft allow me to
callously destroy an important file when I selected it and pressed Delete?"

From the calendar on your blackberry go to "Options" and scroll down to
"Keep Appoinments". Click the trackwheel to set it to "forever". If appts
were made prior to what the setting is they will be automatically deleted
(example: keep for 90 days - anything created more than 90 days will delete)
