CALENDAR entries to JOURNAL entries?

R

In Microsoft Outlook 2002 is there any way to convert or copy meetings in
your calendar (date, subject, person, company, times, notes, etc.) over as a
journal entry without retyping everything into the journal? Often we
calendar a meeting, including extensive notes, but later want that
information to be reflected inside our journal. We would appreciate any
help anyone can give.

Thank You,

Have you tried autocreate? Just drag an appointment into the journal folder
and drop it there to create a new journal item. You might have to retype
some of the information but much of it will be transferred automatically.

BTW, autocreate works for any item type when you drag it to a folder of
another type.

Ken,

Thank you for the reply and for the great hint! It works really well,
except that the notes from the calendar meeting are not copied into the note
area of the journal. However, the user can open the calendar object from
within the journal and copy the notes over if desired. I'm surprised,
however, that Microsoft does not have an automatic way to accomplish this,
such as a button or menu item for making the conversion.

Thanks again,
Richard
