Calendar appointments dissappeared

OK I'm a fairly new user of Outlook. I started using the calendar in the
first half of this year - everything seemed OK. Just over a week ago the IT
guy here helped me switch from using Eudora to Outlook as my email program
(imported address book and previous emails). The appointments and tasks all
seem to have dissappeared now. Could it be something the IT guy did? did
importing the email messages and addresses overwrite some file that stored
the data for the calendar and task list? (I can't be sure that it was
something that the IT guy did because I hadn't used the calendar and task
list for about 1-2 months prior.)

Is there any way to restore these? Is there a chance this could happen again?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I now have two pst files, filed in the spot that website suggests. One is to
handle my student email account and the other is to handle my staff email
account.
Not sure whether both were created last week (and was previously using some
other profile) or whether one of these is the old one I was using last
semester.

Before we go on - does this mean I'll have a different calendar working
under each of these profiles?

The other possible problem is that the IT guys like to partition our hard
drives into C and D drives, I understand that C is where the programs are
generally stored and D is more for user files and docs etc.

I'll do a quick Serach for pst files see if they've been moved somewhere
else - and make sure I['m accessing both profiles properly, and I'll get back
to you.

Thanks

OK, can't open the pst files. (There seems to be no problem using the MAIL
for both email accounts and CONTACTS systems though).
is autoarchive turned on? if yes, it may have archived the appointments.

OK, not sure about how this archive function works. How do you access the
archived appointments? I'll also scoot around "help" in the meantime to see
if that helps me, just that I'm in a hurry to get this up and running...

Found the third pst file called "Personal folders" - its on D drive, and
appears to be where my downloaded emails are stored.

Can't find any folders called "Archive Folders".

Do you have two profiles or did they make you a new profile? It sounds like
one or other... so try opening the pst's using File, Open menu and then
browse them using the Folder list (ctrl+6) - I suspect you'll find the
missing data in one of them.

I think the IT guy made all three profiles from scratch, so any previous
files were deleted. I can only find one calendar file (currently blank) under
the "personal folders" pst stored on C partition. The staff and student pst
files (both on D partition) only have 5 or 6 basic email folders (eg inbox,
Sent etc).

Searches for pst files on all drives have only revealled the 3 pst files.

Is there something I've overlooked? I can only see this one calendar file...
