Not sure when it happened, but hitting on the calculator button on my
keyboard no longer brings the calculator up on the screen. Tried doing Calc.
under the run program & that turned up nothing at all. Not sure what
happened, but someway to get it back? thanks Gimpy...

This is not a normal function of Windows. If you have a calculator
button on your keyboard, then it is supported by the special keyboard
software that came with your keyboard. Try reinstalling the keyboard
software and/or looking in the keyboard configuration program. This
will have been provided by a third-party, perhaps the OEM if you have
that sort of machine (HP, Sony, etc.); this is not a feature built into
Windows.

If he can't run Calc.exe at all, it is a Windows problem. Normally, a
keyboard is setup to execute a specific path to run apps (e.g., calc.exe).

When you said you tried running Calc from Run and that turned up nothing,
does that mean Calculator did not come up, or that it came up and so you are
still lost why it does not come up when you hit the keyboard button?

Check to see if you have calc.exe under c:\winnt\system32\calc.exe
If you do and it doesn't come up then something is wrong with the calc.exe
app.

If Calc.exe works from the Run, then you need to re-configure your keyboard
configuration. You wouldn't by chance have a Logitech keyboard that uses
SetPoint, do you?

What brand is your keyboard? It may need the specific drivers from the
manufacturers website.

Sorry, I gave you the wrong pathname ... on your system it should be
C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe.
Do you have that?

If you still don't, you may try re-installing it.

1. Open Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
2. Click on Add/Remove Windows Components
3. Click on Accessories
4. See if Calculator is checked. If it is, uncheck and click OK (this will
in essence uninstall it - even though it's not there)
5. Then go back in Add/Remove Windows Components, click on Accessories and
re-check Calculator (this will now re-install it)
6. Click OK
7. Check for C:\Windows\System32\Calc.exe

You can download Power Calculator.
