When I open all programs to get to the calculator, the calculator does not
show under accessories -- or anywhere else. However, if I go to help and
search for calculator, I can access the calculator by clicking on the
calculator link in the help topic. How can I get to the calculator easier
and also make a shortcut?

Go to C:Windows\System32 folder

Browse to Calc.exe

Right-click and send to desktop as shortcut.

You can leave it there or drag it onto your Accessories.

Thank you, Roger. Now, how do I make a shortcut and put it in my taskbar?

Typically, one can left-alt-click on an executable and drag a shortcut icon
to wherever you wish. If it is dragged to the bar, left clicking on the
shortcut icon will start the program (if it on the desktop it takes a
double-click). You can also drag such shortcut icons into the start menu. I
just verified this with calc.exe and it works as expected.

Why do you need a shortcut on the desktop, start menu or taskbar?
Simply type "calc" (without quotes) in the "Run" box and press enter
or click OK. I have been doing this for years.

I think the shortcut method is more convenient for most.

If you prefer all those extra steps, go for it.

I prefer one simple double(or single)-click on a shortcut.
