Is there a way to report negative "time". Example: I paid my employee
80:00:00 hours estimate (cell a1). He actually worked 72:00:00 hours (cell
a2). He owes me 8:00:00 (cell a3) where (a3 = a2-a1). Problem is i get
###### instead of minus 8 hours or -8:00:00. Thanks in advance.

Nevermind. Seached other questions - found if I set Tools>Options to 1904
calendar the calculation will show negative! Don't know why but it does!.

The ###### is usually an indication that the column is not wide enough
to display the number. Select a cell in that column and do Format -
Column - AutoFit Selection. Post back if this is not a solution for you.

Otto,

The #######... is also an indication of negative time when using the 1900 date
system.
