I have an absence worksheet which if A is entered into a cell it counts all the A's and gives a total of the days off. But now I am required to count the number of incidents or spells of absence. see below.
M-T-W-Th-F
A-A-A-----A
Because the employee came back on the thursday and was off again on the Friday I have to record an incident or spell of 2, if the employee had stayed of work it would be an incident of 1.
Does anybody have any ideas how to calculate this.
Any help apreciated.
