Hello,
i have a windows 2000 box that the user likes to use the drop down box from
the adress bar to visit all his recently visited web sites. on the top this
seems normal and it was my impresion that was why it is there.
the problem occurs when it fills up with about 10 adresses it starts taking
about 15 seconds to drop down and show the urls cached. after about 20 urls
it will freeze the computer. (or at least take longer then 15 minutes.)
while it is taking this amount of time to display the cached urls, the
computer is usless. you can open any document or even edit them if they were
already open. i have tryed the repair tool, updating to the latest version
of IE, aplied all the os updates, ran adaware and spybot search and destroy
to remove any spyware and the likes, updasted the antivirus (symantec 2003)
and even ran a full system scan. this has been going on for about 3 months
now and i'm not sure what else i could do to fx the problem. searching
microsoft doesn't seem to bring up any answers but i'm not sure i'm using
the correct terms.
any help would be apreciated. thank you
