Is there a built-in program in XP that shows the cable modem speed and
other bps info?
Thanks..

Hmmm, I thought there might be an Icon I can put in the system tray, I hate
adding more programs.

To show your actual speed
1) Open Task Manager
2) Click on "Networking
3) Click on "View"
4) Click on "Select Columns..."
5) Check "Bytes Received/Interval"
(Column headings can be resized by dragging on the dividers between
columns)
This will give a second-by-second gauge of your actual download speed.
6) Do a large download

If you want a closer approximation of actual speed,
1) Click on "View"
2) Click on "Update speed"
3) Select "High"

If you want Task Manager it in the Notification Area (System Tray),
1) Click on "Options"
2) Select "Hide when minimized"

Hello

No, you may have to use some 3rd party program for that,
