C:\WINNT\system32\Perflib_Perfdata_NNN.dat

What program creates and use the C:\WINNT\system32
\Perflib_Perfdata_NNN.dat files? Where NNN is a different
number after I reboot my PC. I need to disable the program
because the automated backup complains each night that the
file can not be backed up because it is in use.

Hi Jack,
I believe these files are created by Norton Anti-Virus.

The easiest thing to do to avoid this problem will be to exclude the file(s)
from backup.
