c:\winnt\system32 appears on startup

I have an end-user that recently removed a number of
viruses from his home system. The system is apparently
clean. However, on startup, a file browser window appears
open to c:\winnt\system32. Checked Startup group and
HKLM\Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run to no
avail. Any ideas?

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."
