Microsoft Antispyware reported that C:\windows.svchost.exe might be a trojan
so I blocked it. I've since renamed this file and nothing seems to have
broken but.... Is it safe to delete this file?

svchost.exe is required by Windows an is usually in the \system32 folder.

Thanks. So if I find a file with that name in C:\windows rather than
C:\windows\system32 it could be suspicious?

Nothing seems to have broken whan I renamed it.

Delete the unnecessary one in \windows

Thanks, have done that now. I also found that it had been added to the
userinit path in the registry which is a known jumping off point for
trojans.
