My computer's C:\Windows folder is occupying 4.08 GB which I suppose is too
large, since my other friends' computers have this folder of not more than 2
GB.
What's the reason & how can I clean the Windows folder?

You have posted this multiple times and gotten answers. There is no
reason for posting again and you will not magically get a different
answer that you like better. XP is a large operating system and it
takes up a lot of space. A clean install of XPSP2 I recently did took
up 2.35GB. That was without any applications installed and without
subsequent Windows Updates. You need to leave enough room for a
pagefile, too so now we're talking about a good 4-5GB just for the
operating system without any apps installed.

I personally would not install XP on a drive that was smaller than 20GB
(and that would be pushing it). A partition of 10GB would work if you
were not going to install any programs to C:.

If you are that strapped for space, buy a bigger hard drive.
