C:\Users folder

I've noticed that Vista creates a Users folder with subfolders for each user
account defined.

With my XP system I have a G:\Users folder doing the same thing, but I had
to logon to each account, alter 'My documents' to redirect it to my Data
drive (G:). I also used to tweek the registry to move internet favorites and
cookies.

Is there an easy way to do this in Vista so that whenever I create a new
account, the 'My Documents' will already be in the right location on my Data
(G:) drive?

A global re-direct of temporary files would also be useful.

Thanks for any advice.
Regards
Mike

Have you tried the mklink command?

C:\Users is more like "C:\Documents and settings". While you can redirect
the Documents subfolders the same way you did for XP, it is also possible to
move C:\Users to another location. However:
* it must be done at install time
* this setting is only available for unattended installation; basically you
should download and install the WAIK, create a file that holds your
installation settings, save this file to an USB key, and reinstall Vista
with the USB key inserted; the installation program picks up your settings
from the USB key, including some stuff that is not available through the
GUI.

If you move C:\Users, the directories for temporary files are also moved.

Thankyou Lionel, I think I will continue to move the location of these
folders as I did before, for now, but I'll look into the WAIK and learn more
about it.
