C: is 160 Gig, how do I create D: etc without blowing away C:

I have purchased a new computer. I have my old computer
running Windows XP (registered). I want to setup my new
computer, it came with Windows XP installed. The disk is
a 160 Gig disk all formatted as C:. I want to create
other drives, D: e: etc. I know how to format C: and
create the other drives but it would eliminate my Win XP
install. Is there a way to create logical drives with on
C: drive already formatted for 160 Gig? If I do format
the C: drive and blow away Win XP, can XP be reloaded?
They sent the disk but I can not find the code for
installation, it seems to be an OEM install. So before I
blow away Win XP is there a way to create the other drive
to make C: smaller and save my Win XP install?

Thank you for any advice you can give.

I can vouch for the accuracy and reliability of Parition
Magic 8.0 - it has gotten me out of a variety of jams
from time to time. I have not yet had it mess up
anything.

Version 8 is really good, with a good understanding of a
variety of file system types and well thought out
strategies for modifying ones partitions.
