after installing a c.d. rewriter the original player
became "e" drive and the new one"f". I have been able to
burn c.d.'s but can't actually listen to them. the error
message says to check the file path. since then I have
uninstalled the In-cid burning program to go back to the
new windows media 10. and it still won't work.same message
keeps coming up.how can I fix this?

Re calibrate your burner to be the "Master" (yes, this means going 'under
the hood') and your player as the slave, on the same IDE cable. That way it
will be the e drive and your player the f drive.

BUT

You can only branch one of them on your soundcard at a time, unless you get
an audio cable - sound card to player/burner - that is split into two (good
luck on finding one !). For simplicity's sake, I would suggest you ditch the
player as you don't really need it now you've got a burner.

FYI if you use InCD, disable the WMP option as WMP doesn't like co-existing
with other software. (Right click on my computer > Manage > Services and
Applications > Services > look for IMAPI Burning ROM Service and disable it
OK etc. and re-boot).

Cheers,
Jerry
