howdy,

I am trying to start my xp pro in command prompt so I can
run some repairs etc.... however when I get my list of
boot options I choose, safe mode with command prompt...
it tries to boot windows first then cmd prompt, which I
dont want coz it come sup with an error...

any way to just boot into command prompt and run a
repair/restore?

^^^^and be4 u ask why I dont do it from my CD .... coz
that comes up with an error too :(

one problem, my cd is coming up with an error and wont
even get to the main screen it puts up an error saying.
ntkrnlmp.exe cant be found - error seven.... so I cant
even get into the setup to run the recovery console.

Have you checked to make sure your BIOS is set to boot from the CD-ROM
first? When it boots from the CD you should see a blue screen with a message
telling you it's loading drivers at the bottom.
