button activation

When I click on buttons etc., they don't appear as if
they have been depressed/activated. Is this a new XP
feature or an option I haven't found yet ?
 
You posted this yesterday, and I have to admit that I cannot exactly picture
what the problem is. Can you give a very specific example, step by step,
using XP or one of the programs that comes with it? Be vivid, graphic and
descriptive.
