I have windows xp with the update windows media player. I tried to burn some
music but the recording is telling me to use a slower recording speed or a
different CD-R. I went through all the speed setting with no luck and I have
new CD-R's. Could it be the brand I have (Sony)? or is it something else?

It is very likely something else. Sony CDs are excellent. You did not state
what program you are using to burn, is it WMP? Troubleshoot.

I am using WMP. I went through the steps again to burn. This is what pop's
up when I try:

WMP cannot burn the files to the CD. Verify that the disc is clean and not
damaged. If necessary, select a slower recording speed or try a different
brand of blank disk.
( I have new disk's )

COOD11AB: Cannot Burn files to CD

I get another Pop Up:

CD (Drive E:)
Blank CD

Burn CD using Real One Player

Open Writable CD folder
(using Windows Exploer)

Create a CD
(using Roxio Easy CD Creator)

Burn a CD
(using WMP)

Take no action

I did not think Burning CD would be this HARD!
