Burning only to 58%

When I burn to a DVD it burns to only 58% than stops.
Any suggestions--
 
More information needed. What program is being used to burn, length of
movie being burned, OS, drive type, etc.
 
plus media type, make, settings used for imported file, settings used for
dvd authoring.
 
Two generic hints:

Turn off your screen saver so that it does not activate during the burn
process.
Slow down your burn speed.
